Nature walks

Step Into Nature

Slow down, look closer, and connect with the outdoors

Slow down and take in the beauty of the Pendle Hills with our guided Nature Walks. These peaceful, educational walks are tailored to suit different age groups and interests, from wildlife spotting and plant identification to mindfulness and storytelling. For our younger visitors, we can combine walks with scavenger hunts or treasure hunts!

Ideal for schools, families, and wellbeing groups, nature walks promote physical activity, environmental awareness, and mental wellbeing. Participants come away with an improved knowledge and appreciation of the natural world we live in.

Pendle Hill is always a favourite route for a full-day hike, but groups can also opt for a shorter route over Stang Top to Black Moss, or through Aitken Wood to see the sculpture trail. Led by knowledgeable guides, each walk offers a chance to reconnect with nature.

  • Boost wellbeing naturally
  • Tailored for all age groups
  • Enhance environmental awareness
  • Themed walks + activities to suit your group
  • Creating memorable, shared experiences

There was something really powerful about holding a space for women in such a natural, calming environment. The setting, the sunshine, and the way everyone showed up so openly, everything just flowed. It was beautiful to see the difference in energy from start to finish

We all wanted to say a massive THANK YOU, for making our days at Whitehough so much fun and so memorable. All our members had a wonderful time, and it was so lovely to see people who we thought might not be able to manage all the tasks, not only having a go but absolutely loving trying!

TEAM RISE

Education

Whitehough is one of my favourite places to go. It’s peaceful, and I feel calm when I’m here. I really like the Leap of Faith – it’s a bit scary, but I feel proud when I do it. Being outside just helps me think clearer and feel better.

Student feedback, The Grow School

Education

We’ve noticed improvements in focus and attention in school after our students spend a day at Whitehough. The activities give them a chance to relax, but also push themselves in a way that feels safe and supported. It’s been especially encouraging to hear the students cheering each other on – the team spirit and social interaction really bring something out in them
