Welcome to Whitehough

Primary school adventures

A fun-filled journey where learning meets the outdoors

What to expect

Our educational visits for primary schools offer a vibrant mix of outdoor exploration, teamwork challenges, creative activities, and plenty of fun

Set in the heart of the stunning Pendle countryside, Whitehough Outdoor Centre invites children to step away from their screens and classrooms and into the fresh air, where learning comes alive through nature. From woodland trails to open fields, every experience is designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and foster a deep connection with the outdoors. Children find enjoyment in learning new skills, which stimulates imagination and helps overcome fears!

Whether you're enriching the curriculum, planning a one-off activity day, or organising a residential trip, we tailor each visit to support learning outcomes for personal growth, communication and much more.

Education

Whitehough is one of my favourite places to go. It’s peaceful, and I feel calm when I’m here. I really like the Leap of Faith – it’s a bit scary, but I feel proud when I do it. Being outside just helps me think clearer and feel better.

Student feedback, The Grow School

Education

We’ve noticed improvements in focus and attention in school after our students spend a day at Whitehough. The activities give them a chance to relax, but also push themselves in a way that feels safe and supported. It’s been especially encouraging to hear the students cheering each other on – the team spirit and social interaction really bring something out in them
