Retreat, Recharge and Reconnect: Wellbeing at Whitehough with NATURA

In May, the peaceful grounds of Whitehough Outdoor Centre in Pendle played host to Retreat & Rest, a one-day wellness retreat curated by Wellbeing with Georgia and Ashleigh from NATURA Wellbeing. Designed exclusively for women, the retreat offered a calming and rejuvenating escape rooted in mindfulness, movement, and meaningful connection with nature.

A day of stillness, sunshine, and self-care

The day began with an energising Vinyasa Yoga session held outdoors on the grass, surrounded by fresh air and birds tweeting! Led by Georgia, attendees flowed through gentle but invigorating movements to reconnect with their breath and body – to awaken the mind and spirit.

Following the morning session, the group went into deep relaxation with a calming Soundbath supported by Reiki healing. This experience helped participants slow down, ground themselves, and reset their nervous systems, leaving many in a deeply peaceful state.

Nourishment, nature & connection

Afterwards, a relaxed lunch offered space for connection and conversation, as well as time to simply enjoy the serene Pendle countryside. The schedule offered a perfect balance of structure and stillness, encouraging participants to reflect while also feeling part of a supportive community.

The afternoon unfolded under a tipi canopy, where guests were guided through a journaling and meditation session. With prompts for self-reflection and nervous system regulation techniques, this experience invited calm introspection, all while basking in the warmth of the spring sun!

Winding down the day

To end the day, the group gathered for a slow and soothing Yin Yoga practice, designed to be spacious, restorative, and deeply nourishing. As the retreat came to a close, a sense of calm connection lingered in the air.

“There was something really powerful about holding a space for women in such a natural, calming environment. The setting, the sunshine, and the way everyone showed up so openly—everything just flowed. It was beautiful to see the difference in energy from start to finish,” shared Ashleigh, founder of NATURA Wellbeing.

Lasting impact & what’s next

Attendees left feeling grounded, calm, and reconnected. Some described a sense of lightness, others a newfound clarity. For many, it was a rare opportunity to just ‘be present’, without screens, stress, or expectations.

A big thank you to Georgia and Ashleigh for choosing Whitehough as their venue for their spring yoga retreat – we look forward to welcoming you back again soon!

Thanks to the overwhelmingly positive response, Georgia and Ashleigh are already planning their summer retreat, and it promises to be another unforgettable experience in the heart of nature.
