"Firstly, as a lifelong supporter I would like to thank you and the club for your sterling involvement and support for the Whitehough facility. As a student at Holy Saviours Secondary Modern in Nelson, I spent a memorable week at Camp School at the end of March, 1958.
"I thoroughly enjoyed the week of outdoor activities like hiking, tree rubbing, bird watching etc. The highlight was when Camp Chief, Ken Oldham, invited the keen Clarets’ fans amongst us to watch a replay of the FA Cup semi-final between Manchester United and Second Division Fulham. We marvelled at the technology with the TV aerial designed for mounting in the trusses of the vaulted roof. In those days, many of us did not have a TV!"
