‘Eggcellent’ turnout for the Whitehough Easter Trail!

During the April school holidays, we welcomed over 120 children to take part in our ‘Easter Trail’ adventure. Children were tasked with ‘facing the elements’ in the Lancashire countryside and putting on their thinking caps to help find Easter eggs.

Each participant was provided with a map, which highlighted each tree with an Easter image attached to it. Once all the trees had been found, the reward at the end was their very own Easter egg 😊.

Our Whitehough Outdoor Education Officer Lorna Dean, who set up the activity said,

‘’We had a fantastic turnout with over 120 children coming and taking part in what was a very wet Easter tree trail. Nonetheless, they all came very well prepared and were not phased by the weather at all.

They really enjoyed the trail, running around the woodlands and down the hills in search for their prizes. What really stood out to me was the positive feedback from parents and grandparents, that means a lot”.

The positive feedback we received from our Easter Trail has set the wheels in motion and is the first of many events, as we plan the next ‘adventure’ for the upcoming school holidays. We cannot wait to inform you of them, so keep an eye out for more information, please follow our Twitter and Instagram: @whitehoughOC and our Facebook page: Whitehough Outdoor Centre.

Did you know we also do Children’s Parties? We can cater for all ages and provide a number of activities based in the great outdoors, set in the beautiful Lancashire countryside!
